(Audio) Germany near recession, UK-EU trade deal likely – Leader

Party leader Christopher Mendes has predicted the swift agreement of a free trade agreement between the UK and the EU for the benefit of everyone all around.

I think under the circumstances nothing can be said to be certain except death, taxes and a free trade agreement with the European Union. Why? For two reasons: first because the politics has completely changed, and secondly because the economics have stayed exactly the same.

Christopher Mendes, Party Leader

Having now officially left the European Union, the United Kingdom generally is the EU’s biggest partner in terms of trade, defence, security and foreign affairs.

In his interview, Christopher referred to the quashing of anti-Brexit forces, UK’s trade deficit with the EU, and Germany’s huge reliance on exports as the incentives for a UK-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to be completed.

Scottish Independence

Also asked to comment on the likelihood of Scottish Independence, Christopher stated that while it is not for an “Englishman in the south” to decide, that Scotland would perhaps be wise to wait and see how Brexit works out for the UK before opining again on Scottish Independence.
